ジャンが主人公…『進撃の巨人』ファイナルシーズンPart2 第84話をみた海外の反応

今回は『進撃の巨人』のファイナルシーズンPart2 84話（9話）「終末の夜」の海外の反応をご紹介します。

前回はまさかの不評回として、海外のファンからは厳しいコメントが寄せられていましたが、ミカサ、アルミン、コニー、ジャン、ライナー、アニ、ファルコ、ガビの進撃の巨人アベンジャーズが集結した今回は、果たしてどのような反応があったのでしょうか。

エレンを止めてしまうと、パラディ島は侵略されると主張するジャンでしたが、調査兵団団長のハンジはそれでも虐殺は止めるしかないと反論します。それに、これまで死んでいった兵団の仲間たちは、この島だけに自由をもたらせばそれで良いとは思わないだろうとハンジは語るのでした。

ファルコとガビが必死に謝り、協力を仰ぐシーンには心を打つものがありました。

ただ、争いはまだ終わっていない…

Not gonna lie it’s a bit concerning that there is only 2 episodes left. It feels like there’s a lot to try to wrap up in just 2 episodes. I know the general consensus of manga readers was that they found the ending disappointing so I’m ultimately left wondering how in the hell is this all going to conclude and will it be a clean, un-rushed conclusion

正直、残り2話というのが少し気になる。たった2話でまとめようとするのは無理があるような気がする。マンガ読者の総意として、残念な終わり方だったというのは知っているから、結局のところ、一体どうやって完結するのか、急がずにすっきりした終わり方になるのかが気になるところ。

I am sad, to be honest, because, like Jean, I don’t know how this can end well. If they stop the rumbling and save the world from genocide, who is to say the world does not turn back and destroy them? This show does such a good job of illustrating the pain and trauma of war, as well as the scars left on generations to come. Really heartbreaking.

正直言って悲しい。ジャンと同じで、どうしたら良い結果になるのか分からないから。 もし皆が「地ならし」を止めて、大量虐殺から世界を救ったとしても、世界が逆上して彼らを滅ぼさないと誰が言えるのかな？ 「進撃の巨人」は、戦争の痛みとトラウマ、そして後の世代に残る傷をとてもうまく描いてる。本当に胸が張り裂けそうだ。

I miss seeing Eren. I want to see him wipe out the planet already (no spoilers, I don’t read manga, but I’m hoping it happens). Anyone else agree with the rumbling? Imagine if the world wanted to wipe your country/people from existence.

エレンが見れなくて寂しい。もう地球を消し去るところを見てみたい（ネタバレ禁止、漫画読んでないけどどうなるんだろ）。 ところで「地ならし」に同意する人おる？もし世界が自分の国・国民を消し去りたいと思ったときを想像してみて欲しい。

Think Yelena talking about all various warcrimes just strengthens their mutual understanding and commitment to stopping Eren, especially for the titan shifters who all have a couple years left to live in the best case.

イェレナが様々な戦犯を語ることで、エレンを止めるという相互理解が深まり、特にエレンの余命があと2、3年であることを考えると、その決意が固まるのではないだろうか。

Does anybody know how many times Reiner got beat up in the show so far 😭It’s like a running gag at this point

5 titan holders in one place eating stew, has this happened before?

5人の巨人の継承者が一堂に会してシチューを食べる、前にもこんなことがあったのかな。

Probably in season 1. Eren, Annie, Reiner, Ymir, and Bertholt ate together on a daily basis as cadets.

おそらく第1期の頃。エレン、アニ、ライナー、ユミル、ベルトルトは調査兵団候補生として日常的に一緒に食事をしていた。

I love Annie’s “”what about me?”” and then no one responded 😭

アニの「私は？」って聞くところが大好き。その後誰も反応しないし😭

Ok, that was a marvelous episode.

OK、マーベラスな9話だった！

HEATED CONVERSATION Hange: “”JEAN WHAT ABOUT YOUR SECONDS?!?!”” Honestly, even though it was all talking, I enjoyed this episode. It felt like so many things that needed to be said were said.

白熱する会話… ハンジ「ジャン……おかわりどうするの？！！」 正直、会話ばかりだったけど、このエピソードは楽しめた。これまで言うべきだったことがたくさん解消された気がする。

It was such a fucking tense episode culminating to the Reiner bashing. Even before that, it just felt like a fight would break out at any time (for example Annie and Mikasa’s scene). God dammit, edge of my seat entertainment 10/10.

ライナーバッシングに至るまで、めちゃめちゃ緊張したエピソードだった。それ以前も、今にも喧嘩が始まりそうな雰囲気だった（アニとミカサのシーンなど）。ハラハラドキドキで10/10だ！

I feel like in Season 4 Part 1 the team took the wall to wall sitting around talking episodes as a challenge to work in interesting compositions and character animation, but they kinda just took advantage of the opportunity to not have to animate much here. Looks like next episode may be a visual treat though.

ファイナルシーズンのパート1では、壁一面に座って話すエピソードを、面白い構図やキャラクターアニメーションを作るための挑戦として捉えていたけど、ここではあまりアニメーションを作る必要がない機会を利用しただけのような気がした。次回のエピソードは、視覚的な楽しみがありそうだ。

Why is no one talking abt the naive way of hange’s thinking? She just says “”genocide is bad”” but when Jean asks what they will do after they stop eren she has no answer

なぜ誰もハンジの素朴な考え方について語らないのかな？「大量虐殺は良くない」と言うだけで、ジャンが「エレンを止めた後どうするのか」と聞いても何も答えてないし。

The trees probably represent racial / ethnic identity–the way Ymir’s tree branched out in the metaverse. The branches are the current generation which stem from the trunk. The “”forest”” is comprised of these trees.

木はおそらく人種や民族のアイデンティティを表しているのだろう。枝は幹から派生した現在の世代であって、森はこれらの木々で構成されている。

A minor detail, but I found it neat that the stew was boiling louder during Magath and Jean’s argument.

細かいことですが、マガトとジャンの言い争いでシチューの沸騰する音が大きくなっていたのが、すてきだと思いました。

Jean is starting to be more of the main character these last couple episodes. Guess it makes sense, since Eren has gone full Genocide mode on us. Jean was always the closest thing to a rival for Eren back in Season 1.

ここ数話、ジャンがより主役になりつつあるよね。エレンがジェノサイド（虐殺）モード全開になったので、理にかなってると思う。シーズン1ではジャンは常にエレンのライバルに近い存在だったから。

Was hoping Levi would have something to say about Annie, considering she slaughtered the old Levi squad.

旧リヴァイ班を虐殺されたリヴァイがアニに何か言うんじゃないかと期待してたんだけどな。

Jean just wanted to live a good life. Poor guy.

ジャンはただ楽しく暮らしたかっただけなのだ。かわいそうなやつだ。

Story in this episode was great as always, but I’m sorry I cannot enjoy the episode when the director decided to take such a direction. For such a dialogue and character focused episode not showing proper expressions is just plain awful. 4/10 episode

ストーリーはいつも通り良かったのですが、監督のこのような演出で楽しめなくなったのが残念。台詞やキャラクターを重視した回なのに、ちゃんとした表情を見せないというのは、あまりにもひどい。4/10

Some questionable camera shot selection and panning during a lot of the scenes, but overall an ok episode. I never got the idea that this alliance was bad story direction or not true to the characters. They clearly lay out in this episode that this was something they aren’t comfortable with because of their past circumstances. All of them have regrets and reluctant feelings that will never be solved, but they need to put them aside to accomplish something bigger than all of their problems. It’s a very reasonable direction for the story to take.

多くのシーンでカメラのショットとパンニングに疑問が残るけど、全体的にはOKな回だったよ。ストーリーの方向性が悪いとかという考えは、私にはなかったね。このエピソードでは、過去の経緯から、この紳士協定がミカサたちにとって心地よいものではないことを明確に打ち出している。彼らは皆、決して解決されない後悔や不本意な感情を持っているけど、これまでの問題よりも大きな問題を解決するために、一旦脇に置く必要がある。ストーリーの方向性としては、とても合理的だと思う！

We literally just stared at trees for half of this episode. Love the plot, but MAPPA can eat shit

このエピソードの半分は、文字通り木を見つめているだけでした。プロットは好きだが、MAPPAはクソ喰らえだ。

Another excellent episode. Although I’m a manga reader, I don’t exactly remember this part, so I am very happy that Jean is asking the questions that I have would’ve asked if I were in his shoes.

今回も素晴らしいエピソード。私は漫画読者ですが、このパートを正確に覚えていないので、ジャンがエレンの立場だったら「こうしたであろう」と反論するところがとてもうれしかった。
